Yes. Claude Code runs ffmpeg to cut and Whisper to write down the words. It cannot watch a video, so it reads the transcript and looks at still frames to check its work.
Yes, several. HyperFrames, Remotion and auto-editor ship skills. Takes for Mac, Kinocut and earshot are MCP servers. All of them are free and on GitHub.
A skill is a folder of steps and commands that Claude Code reads. An MCP server is a program that gives Claude Code new tools to call. Many video setups use both.
For talking-head videos on a Mac, Takes for Mac: one line installs it, ffmpeg and the skills. For motion graphics, HyperFrames. For a quick silence cut on any computer, auto-editor.
Most do. Skills work in any agent that reads skill folders, and an MCP server works in any MCP client. Takes adds its server to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, opencode, pi and Claude Desktop.
The repos on this page are free. Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan or API credits. Remotion needs a company license for some companies.
Not with these tools: ffmpeg, Whisper, auto-editor and Takes run on your computer. Your agent sends the transcript and a few still frames to its model, not the video.
